TEMPORARY COURT CLOSURES (1-8)
We have a challenging, but necessary, repair schedule for Courts 1-8, beginning January 20th. All eight courts will be unavailable for approximately two to three weeks, depending on local weather temperature and precipitation. The repair work is necessary for the courts to be suitable for use in the USAPA sanctioned tournament located in Leisure World on February 13-15.
To deal with the loss of available court time for club use, the pickleball board has taken the following steps to ease the negative impact during the repair period:
Courts 1-8 will be blocked closed from January 20th until February 10th.
Skills and Drills, and Learn to Play sessions are all postponed until at least the week of Feb. 17th.
All Round Robins, regardless of skill level and capacity will be limited to a maximum allotment of four courts.
Importantly, play on Courts 9-16 is only allowed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., so all evening activities will be effectively cancelled.
Courts 15 and 16, which are normally designated as “walk-on” courts, will be utilized for Paddles Up play, Round Robins and player reservations in “holdmycourt.com”. Clark Collier, Leisure World’s Community Manager, graciously agreed to this waiver.
Ball machine usage will not be allowed.
